Privacy Policy
How Redactly handles information.
Overview
Redactly is designed as a browser-based screenshot editor. The basic editing workflow is intended to operate locally in your browser.
Images
The editor loads selected images into the browser and uses browser APIs such as Canvas to perform editing operations such as hiding, annotating, cropping, watermarking and exporting. The static application does not require an image upload endpoint for the editor functionality described on this website.
Clipboard and sharing
If you paste an image, the editor reads it from your clipboard when you use Paste or press the paste shortcut. If you press Copy, the editor writes the exported image to your clipboard. If your browser supports sharing files and you press Share, the image is handed to your device's share sheet. These actions happen only when you trigger them.
Local storage
The website uses browser local storage for preferences: your
theme choice (redactly-theme) and your watermark
settings (redactly-wm), such as text, layout, size,
opacity and colour. A logo you add to a watermark is not saved.
You can clear this data using your browser's site settings.
Analytics
If analytics or other third-party services are added to a deployment of Redactly, the deployment operator should update this policy to accurately describe those services.
Third-party services
This policy should be updated before production use if the website adds payment processors, analytics platforms, authentication providers, advertising networks or other third-party services.
